Down 25 pounds in 10 weeks. Without any muscle loss. Here’s how—and how you can do it, too.
“Fat loss is a goal for almost everybody in one way or another. And fat loss and nutrition is like religion—there’s a million different things you can talk about and it can be big and complicated. So we focused on our core value of evidence-based and narrowed it down to three key tools that have the most scientific backing for losing fat well and keeping it off.” — Kyle Recchia, CEO of FastFit®
Most people come to us to gain strength, and yet almost everybody in one way or another wants to lose fat, too. With fat loss and nutrition, there’s a million different things you can talk about and it can get big and complicated fast. So we went back to our core value of evidence-based and asked: what actually works?
Strength training is the engine. Adding muscle increases your metabolism and burns more calories at rest. That’s the foundation and it’s what we do best. But when it comes to actually losing fat, we’ve sunsetted our former PeakWell program in favor of a simplified fat loss program built around three tools.
The first is energy balance, tracked through an app called MacroFactor. You log your food, weigh in periodically, and the algorithm adjusts your calorie and protein targets based on your actual body composition changes over time. I’ve been using it since December 1st alongside the second tool: Factor meals, a delivery service that ships calorie-balanced, macro-balanced meals to your door. Between the app and the pre-portioned meals, the process has been nearly effortless for me: scan the box, log it, move on. Ten weeks in, I’m down 25 pounds with no muscle loss confirmed by DEXA scans.
The third pillar is GLPs—specifically tirzepatide (GLP-1 plus GIP)—offered through our partnership with Kimberly Cunningham at Cunningham Clinic. I wasn’t personally a candidate for GLPs, but for people who are, the evidence is strong. Kimberly’s team evaluates bloodwork, prescribes appropriately, and works with top compounding pharmacies so our members can access tirzepatide for around $150 a month.
All three tools are available through our studios, the app, your trainer, and at FastFit.com/FatLoss. We’re going to keep our eyes on what’s most evidence-based and simple, and we’ll continue to evolve this program as we learn. But at the end of the day, we’re letting our partners do what they do best on the fat loss side so we can keep focusing on what we do best—building muscle.
In this episode, you’ll learn:
- Why energy balance is still the foundational principle of fat loss—and why the average American consuming 3,600 calories a day matters more than most dietary debates
- How MacroFactor works as a calorie and macro tracking tool that adjusts to your body over time
- Why meal prepping and meal replacements have the strongest evidence for long-term fat loss success—and how Factor meals remove the friction
- Kyle’s personal results: 25 pounds of fat lost in 10 weeks, no muscle loss, confirmed by DEXA scans
- How GLPs (specifically tirzepatide) fit into the program through the partnership with Cunningham Clinic—and why they’re not for everyone but can be life-changing for some
- Why these tools also work for people focused on building muscle or reverse dieting after a cut
- Where to access the fat loss program: FastFit.com/FatLoss, the FastFit app, or through your trainer
