Same machine. Same science. Now, with three distinct ways to get stronger—based on how you train best.
“They’re all going to ensure you’re doing the right things you need to do to get stronger and to build muscle. But they allow you to accomplish it in different ways that work best for you.”
— Kyle Recchia, CEO of FastFit
Not everyone is wired the same way when it comes to exercise. Your training software shouldn’t pretend otherwise.
In this episode, Kyle Recchia and Jim Keen introduce Pathways—three distinct software experiences built into the FastFit® machine. Each pathway delivers the same core benefits of isokinetic training: perfectly matched resistance, progressive overload, and measurable results. The difference is that each pathway matches your psychology, your goals, and where you are in your fitness journey.
The first pathway, Peak, is what longtime FastFit members already know. It tracks your strength curve and challenges you to hit higher force output each session. It’s built for people who are motivated by personal records and want to see exactly how strong they’re getting.
The second pathway, Climb, removes the pressure of chasing peak numbers. Instead, it focuses on total work: how much cumulative effort you produce in a set. The software automatically increases your goal by 2% each session, building a steady staircase of progress. Bad day? Doesn’t matter. You just keep climbing until you reach your peak workout, then the cycle resets. It guarantees you’re doing more than last time, every time.
The third pathway, Ignite, is designed for people who aren’t ready or don’t want to go all-out. Using a submaximal approach, Ignite sets a threshold based on a percentage of your tested strength and asks you to stay above it. Over time, that threshold rises by 2%, and your strength builds with it — without the intensity or discomfort that keeps many people from starting. As Jim puts it, six months later your submaximal effort could be double where you started, and you never had to “bust a gut” to get there.
The key insight? All three pathways produce real strength training results—mechanical loading, progressive overload, muscle fiber recruitment. They just get there differently. And because people’s biopsychosocial needs vary and change over time, members can move between pathways as their goals evolve.
This is version one, with more customization on the way, including different ways to view your data (total pounds, watts, joules) and new protocols within each pathway, which Kyle and Jim will cover in the next episode.
In this episode, you’ll learn:
- What Pathways are and why FastFit developed three distinct training experiences
- How the Peak pathway tracks your strength curve and rewards max effort
- How the Climb pathway guarantees progressive overload through total work volume — without the pressure of hitting a new personal record
- How the Ignite pathway makes strength training accessible for people who aren’t ready to train at maximum intensity
- Why all three pathways deliver real strength training benefits through isokinetic technology
- How FastFit accounts for biopsychosocial differences — biology, psychology, and life circumstances — in its training approach
- What’s coming next: customizable data views in the app and new protocols within each pathway
